The Griffin Entrance Scholarships

The Griffin Entrance Scholarship recognizes and rewards academic excellence, responsible citizenship, and leadership potential. These awards are designed for talented young students who wish to develop their potential through their energetic commitments to stimulating academic, athletic, and artistic programmes. We are seeking students who will make an enthusiastic and balanced contribution to our active day school community, which offers unique opportunities for personal growth, leadership, development, and community service.

Scholarship Candidates

The awards are offered to new students:
  • who will be entering Grades 1 through 8 in the next school year.
  • who are of above average academic ability and presently hold at least a 'B' average in academics.
  • who have leadership potential and a diversity of interests.
  • who perform well in the scholarship interview and test (test is only for students entering Grades 3 to 8).

Awards

Ranging in value from $1,000 to $6,000.

A Griffin Entrance Scholarship is tenable for three years provided the recipient maintains a strong academic performance and makes a worthwhile contribution to the Kempenfelt Bay School community through active personal involvement and responsible citizenship. Thereafter, based on a review of the student's progress and the family financial circumstances, it may be possible for a student to receive a similar measure of support through the School's Bursary Programme.

Application Process

Prior to the scholarship interview and test (test is only for students entering Grades 3 to 8), all candidates will be expected to meet Kempenfelt Bay School's general admission requirements, which includes the completion of the application form, submission of most recent academic reports, and the receipt of the $100 application fee.

Scholarship Evaluation Process

Once a student has successfully met the admission requirements and completed the scholarship interview and test (test is only for students entering Grades 3 to 8), the Scholarship Committee will meet to discuss all the applicants and will respond to the family as quickly as possible, to keep the admissions process moving along to completion.
